The beloved Brooklyn-born Mediterranean restaurant Miriam—which just celebrated its 20th anniversary is expanding once again with the opening of Miriam West Village this August. First launched in Park Slope in 2005, Miriam quickly became a neighborhood favorite, known for its warm hospitality, vibrant Israeli-Mediterranean flavors, and lines out the door for weekend brunch. A second location on the Upper West Side followed in 2022, and now, the team brings its signature spirit downtown.

Founded by Chef/Owner Rafael “Rafi” Hasid, Miriam has become a beloved fixture of New York’s dining scene—cherished not only for crave-worthy food but for its genuine hospitality and sense of community. With the opening of Miriam West Village, 6R Hospitality Group continues to thoughtfully grow its collection of restaurants, which includes Miriam Park Slope, Miriam UWS, the fast-casual Miriam Street Food, the elegant Upper East Side newcomer Rafael, and the Creole-inspired 1803 NYC in Tribeca.

Like the original, Miriam West Village will highlight an elevated menu that is both soulful and shareable, rooted in a Mediterranean sensibility Mediterranean sensibility that blends influences from across the region. Signature staples include the Lamb Shawarma Terracotta, cut and presented table side straight from the oven, our Steak Levant featuring house-made pistachio & tarragon pesto and homemade fries. For a lighter touch, our Watermelon & Feta salad is the perfect summer favorite with exquisite and bright colors and impeccable textures, and the Fritto Misto, with summer squash, shrimp, and shishito peppers.

The space has been fully transformed to reflect Miriam’s inviting design aesthetic, with warm woods, glowing lighting, and a welcoming indoor-outdoor flow. A large front bar and sidewalk patio create an approachable all-day vibe, while a 12-seat open kitchen bar adds energy and connection to the cooking experience. The main dining room seats up to 80 guests and features cozy nooks and flexible table layouts, creating an inviting setting for any occasion. The restaurant also includes intimate private dining areas available for celebrations, gatherings, and special events.
